Lock Upp: Sufi Motiwala recalls assault, says ex-roommate forced himself on him
During the latest episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, influencer Sufi Motiwala opened up about an alleged sexual assault by his former roommate. The fashion commentator, along with Dheeraj Dhoopar, was evicted from the show on Sunday.
During the latest episode of Lock Upp: Sach Ya Sazaa, social media influencer and fashion commentator Sufi Motiwala alleged that he was sexually assaulted by a former roommate during his stay at a paying guest (PG) accommodation. During his eviction episode on Sunday, he also spoke about missing his grandmother's final call before her death and how his college friendships left a lasting impact on him.
Recalling the alleged incident, Sufi, 22, said his former roommate would often sit across from his bed and watch him while he slept, making him feel uncomfortable and unsafe. He claimed the situation escalated one day when the roommate allegedly forced himself on him.
"My roommate would just be sitting on his bed and keep staring at me as I slept. That would make me really scared. One day, he just tried to force himself on me and started kissing me, making me extremely terrified," Sufi said.
According to Sufi, he immediately ran downstairs and informed the owner of the PG about what had happened. However, he alleged that the response he received left him even more distressed.
"Why are you sleeping with him? You should sleep with me," Sufi recalled the PG owner telling him. He added that he locked himself inside a bathroom for nearly 12 hours as he struggled to process the alleged assault.
Sufi recalls loss of his grandmother
Sufi also reflected on the loss of his grandmother, revealing that she had called him two days before her death, but he missed the call. He said he learnt of her death two days later and was not allowed by his family to attend her funeral.
The influencer shared that his grandmother had left him Rs 50,000, which he used to buy a phone. According to Sufi, purchasing that phone marked the beginning of his journey as a content creator.
He also spoke about his college years in Delhi, saying he had only two close male friends at the time. Sufi revealed that he later developed romantic feelings for some of them, which affected those friendships and made him wary of forming close relationships.
