Project Hail Mary OTT release: When and where to watch Ryan Gosling's sci-fi film

Amazon MGM Studios has announced that Project Hail Mary will premiere on Prime Video on 3 July and released a new clip. The Ryan Gosling-led adaptation follows Ryland Grace as he tries to solve the mystery behind the dying sun, with an unexpected friendship reshaping the mission.

Amazon MGM Studios has announced that Project Hail Mary is set to premiere on Prime Video on July 3. The film is based on Andy Weir's New York Times best-selling novel, stars Ryan Gosling, and is directed by Phil Lord and Christopher Miller.

The film also features Sandra Huller, James Ortiz, Lionel Boyce, Ken Leung, Milana Vayntrub and Priya Kansara. A new film clip has also been released and can be viewed here.

The story follows science teacher Ryland Grace, played by Gosling, who wakes up on a spaceship light years from home with no recollection of who he is or how he got there. As his memory returns, he begins to uncover his mission: to solve the riddle of a mysterious substance causing the sun to die out. He must rely on his scientific knowledge and unorthodox ideas to save everything on Earth from extinction, but an unexpected friendship means he may not have to do it alone.

The screenplay is by Drew Goddard. The film is presented by Amazon MGM Studios and is a Pascal Pictures, Open Invite Films/Waypoint Entertainment, Lord Miller production. It is produced by Amy Pascal, Ryan Gosling, Phil Lord, Christopher Miller, Aditya Sood, Rachel O’Connor and Andy Weir. The executive producers are Patricia Whitcher, Lucy Winn Kitada, Nikki Baida, Ken Kao, Drew Goddard and Sarah Esberg.

Project Hail Mary arrived in Indian cinemas six days after its release in the US. The revised schedule had fuelled speculation that the makers were looking to avoid a box-office clash with Ranveer Singh's much-awaited Dhurandhar: The Revenge. The film was a hit at the Indian box office and went on to earn Rs 75.26 crore nett In India.

Project Hail Mary has been rated PG-13 for some thematic material and suggestive references. The film, based on Weir's novel and led by Gosling, begins streaming on Prime Video in India from on July 3.
