PM inaugurates Greenfield airport, launches projects worth Rs 18,000 crore in Andhra

Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched multiple infrastructure projects in Andhra Pradesh during a one-day visit to the state and Karnataka. Joined by Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan, and Union Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu, the Prime Minister inaugurated the greenfield Alluri Sitarama Raju International Airport at Bhogapuram. Built under a public-private partnership model at a cost exceeding Rs 5,600 crore, the facility is designed to process six million passengers annually in its initial phase.

During his visit to Vizianagaram district, Prime Minister Modi inspected the passenger terminal and participated in a mega roadshow featuring traditional Dhimsa dance performances by tribal groups. The Prime Minister is also scheduled to lay the foundation stone for the ASIP semiconductor project at Visakhapatnam, an initiative under the India Semiconductor Mission valued at over Rs 460 crore. The cumulative value of the developmental projects introduced in the region totals approximately Rs 18,000 crore.
