Bihar man refuses to withdraw case over daughter's kidnapping, shot dead in sleep
The man was allegedly killed by attackers who stormed the premises of the brick kiln where he worked as a security guard. He was on the night shift when the incident took place.

A man was shot dead in Bihar's Munger district while he was asleep, with his family alleging the attackers were seeking revenge over a kidnapping case involving his daughter. The victim, identified as 45-year-old Subodh Yadav, worked as a security guard at a brick kiln.
He was on night shift when the fatal attack took place. Upon receiving information about the incident, the police, including senior officials, rushed to the spot, along with a team of forensic investigators.
According to available information, Subodh arrived at the brick kiln for duty after having dinner on Wednesday night. At around 9 pm, armed attackers allegedly stormed the guard room where he was sleeping and shot him twice in the head from close range.
Hearing the gunshots, the workers at the brick kiln rushed to the spot and found Subodh lying in a pool of blood. The perpetrators fled the scene under the cover of darkness.
The preliminary probe suggests that the murder resulted from an old enmity. Subodh's family claimed that an FIR was lodged against one Devan Yadav, his son, and others a few months ago in connection with his daughter's kidnapping over a love affair.
They alleged that the accused had been pressuring them to withdraw the case and had threatened to kill Subodh just two days before the murder. They believe that the killing was a premeditated act of revenge.
The seriousness of the incident prompted Munger Superintendent of Police (SP) Syed Imran Masood to take charge of the investigation of the scene. A team from the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) collected evidence, while police personnel questioned local residents.
Investigators are also reviewing CCTV footage from the premises of the brick kiln to identify the attackers. SP Masood said that the police are thoroughly probing all aspects of the case based on the allegations made by Subodh's family.
The body has been sent for post-mortem examination. The official assured that no one involved in the crime would be spared and that continuous raids were being conducted to arrest the suspects.
He also confirmed that two people have been taken into custody for questioning.
