CM Rekha Gupta inaugurated 45 Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandir in Delhi on Friday. The rollout pushes operational centres past 415 and aims to bring free primary care closer to homes.

The Delhi government has inaugurated 45 new Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs, taking the total number of operational centres in the capital to more than 415. Launching the new facilities, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government is moving towards its goal of establishing over 1,100 primary healthcare centres across Delhi to ensure quality medical care is available closer to people's homes.
FREE PRIMARY HEALTHCARE CLOSER TO HOME
The new Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandirs provide a range of free primary healthcare services, including general outpatient consultations, maternal and child healthcare, routine immunisation, health counselling and screening for non-communicable diseases.
Patients can also access essential medicines and nearly 80 types of free diagnostic tests, reducing the need to travel to larger hospitals for basic medical care.
FOCUS ON PREVENTION AND EARLY DETECTION
Speaking at the launch in Shakurpur, Rekha Gupta said the centres are designed not only to treat illnesses but also to promote preventive healthcare.
She said the facilities will focus on early detection of diseases, timely treatment and spreading awareness about healthy lifestyles through regular health check-ups, yoga and exercise.
According to the Chief Minister, the aim is to ensure that residents receive quality healthcare services within their neighbourhoods.
REDUCING THE BURDEN ON MAJOR HOSPITALS
As part of the citywide rollout, Social Welfare Minister Ravinder Indraj Singh inaugurated an Ayushman Jan Arogya Mandir at Punjab Khore.
He said the centres bring doctor consultations, medicines, diagnostic tests, maternal and child healthcare, immunisation and routine health check-ups under one roof. This is expected to improve access to affordable healthcare while reducing pressure on Delhi's major hospitals.
He added that the government is working to strengthen the healthcare system across the capital.
INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECTS ALSO INAUGURATED
Later in the day, Rekha Gupta inaugurated development projects worth around Rs 14.25 crore in the Tri Nagar Assembly constituency.
