Six Indian chicken dishes make it to World's Top 100
Food guide TasteAtlas has released it's Top 100 Chicken Dishes in the World list and six Indian dishes have been featured.

The aroma of Indian dishes has once again made its way to global food listings. This time, it’s about the variety of chicken dishes that are cooked the Indian way.
TasteAtlas, a well-known global food guide, regularly publishes rankings of popular dishes from around the world. In its April 2026 list of the Top 100 Chicken Dishes, around six dishes commonly served across India have earned a spot.
Indian dishes on Top 100 list
These are some of the juicy, drool-worthy Indian chicken dishes that made it to the top 100 list.
- Murgh Makhani from Delhi (Butter chicken), at 6th position
- Tandoori Murgh from Punjab (tandoori chicken), at 22nd position
- Chicken 65 from Chennai, at 27th position
- Murgh Tikka, at 53rd position
- Chicken Kathi Roll from Kolkata, at 70th position
- Murgh Rezala from West Bengal, at 96th position
From appetisers like chicken tikka and street-style staples like kathi rolls to hearty mains like butter chicken, each dish is packed with a burst of flavours.
The list is based on 13,944 ratings. The idea, TasteAtlas said, is to “promote excellent local foods, instil pride in traditional dishes, and arouse curiosity about dishes you haven’t tried.”
In addition to these dishes, Korea’s chikin (Korean fried chicken) tops the list and is loved for its ultra-crispy texture and bold sauces. It is followed by Peru’s pollo a la brasa (Peruvian roast chicken), a smoky, crispy dish often served with French fries and salad. In third place is inasal na manok from the Philippines, followed by pilic topkapi from Turkiye and murgh karahi from Pakistan.
Earlier, the food guide also revealed its annual Best Food 2026 list, and India had secured a place in almost every category featuring the world’s top 100. Cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Lucknow - known for their rich culinary heritage - carved a distinct spot for themselves on the global stage.
Together, these rankings reaffirm what food lovers already know: Indian cuisine isn’t just diverse, it is evolving and impossible to ignore on the world map.
