Awarapan 2 is also facing competition from Spider-Man: Brand New Day. Despite being in its third week and playing on fewer screens, the Hollywood release continues to draw audiences and remains a strong contender at the box office.

With its substantial jump on Saturday, Awarapan 2 has strengthened its position during the Independence Day weekend, with the Sunday numbers expected to determine how strongly it closes its opening weekend.
