Ranveer Singh finally begins prep for zombie thriller Pralay, to shoot in September
Ranveer Singh is reportedly preparing to begin shooting for Jai Mehta's zombie thriller Pralay in 2026. As per reports, a major Australia schedule is planned.

Months after reports emerged that actor Ranveer Singh had signed filmmaker Jai Mehta's ambitious zombie thriller Pralay, the project finally appears to be moving into production. Following the success of Dhurandhar, the actor is set to begin shooting for the big-budget survival drama in September 2026, with a major schedule planned in Australia.
A source close to the development told Pinkvilla that the 41-year-old actor has already started preparing for the film and is deeply involved in its process.
"Ranveer will begin shooting for Jai Mehta's directorial in the second half of 2026. A significant portion of the film will be shot in Australia, and he has already kick-started prep. Given the scale and genre, the film demands extensive physical as well as emotional preparation," the source said.
The zombie thriller is currently in the pre-production stage, with Jai Mehta and his team working extensively in Australia alongside technicians who have previously been associated with several international productions. A substantial part of the film will be shot there.
The source further revealed that Singh has been closely collaborating with the director and writers as the project takes shape. Reportedly, the upcoming film will be a VFX-heavy one and the team is constantly refining the screenplay, visual language and the larger zombie universe.
Mounted on an estimated budget of Rs 300 crore, Pralay is expected to be the most expensive standalone film of Ranveer Singh's career. Despite Jai, son of Hansal Mehta, being a first-time director, the actor is said to have placed his confidence in the script and the filmmaker's vision.
While the makers are yet to make an official announcement, Kalyani Priyadarshan is expected to make her Bollywood debut as the female lead. Set in a post-apocalyptic world, Pralay follows the story of a married couple fighting for survival in a dystopian Mumbai.
