Assam floods: Kartik Aaryan donates Rs 1 crore, Himanta Sarma thanks actor
Actor Kartik Aaryan has donated Rs 1 crore to the Assam Chief Minister's Relief Fund to support relief and rehabilitation efforts in the flood-hit state. The contribution came as the death toll reached 78 and more than 3 lakh people remained affected.

Amid the devastating floods in Assam, Bollywood actor Kartik Aaryan has donated Rs 1 crore to the state’s Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. The Chief Minister’s Office confirmed the contribution and expressed gratitude to the actor for his support.
“Gratitude to actor @TheAaryanKartik for his generous contribution of 1 Crore to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund. HCM Dr. @himantabiswa appreciated his commendable gesture and timely support toward state relief measures (sic),” the post on X read.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma also thanked Kartik through his personal X handle, writing, “Truly heartened by your generous contribution, @TheAaryanKartik. Your support will go a long way in helping the people of Assam #AssamFloods (sic).”
Earlier, Salman Khan had also stepped forward to support those affected by the devastating floods in Assam. A source close to the actor confirmed the development to India Today Digital, saying the relief work has been planned in phases. Through his charitable organisation Being Human, the actor joined hands with the Salman Khan Fan Club (SKFC) Assam to coordinate relief efforts across some of the worst-hit areas of the state.
The death toll from this year’s Assam floods rose to 78 on Wednesday, July 29, after three more people died in Sivasagar and Golaghat districts. Meanwhile, more than 3 lakh people continued to be affected across seven districts, according to the government bulletin.
According to the bulletin, 3,00,031 people across seven flood-affected districts, Sivasagar, Charaideo, Golaghat, Jorhat, Nagaon, Biswanath and Kamrup Metropolitan, continue to be affected by the deluge. Floodwaters continue to affect 21 revenue circles and 551 villages, while 21,523.08 hectares of cropland remain submerged.
