Actor Yami Gautam and director Aditya Dhar visited the Shri Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga temple in Ujjain, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday along with their son Vedavid Dhar and other family members. Yami’s brother Ojas Gautam, who worked as an assistant director on Dhar’s film, and their parents were also part of the visit.
After offering prayers at the temple, Yami said she had long heard a great deal about the place and had wanted to visit. She said she could not come earlier during the shooting of Oh My God 2 because of work commitments, but added that she now felt blessed to have had darshan with her family.
Speaking after the visit, Yami said, "I had always heard words of praise about this place, words beyond even the highest praise. During the shooting of Oh My God 2, I could not come because of some work commitments." She added, "But when the call comes from Baba, how can one not respond? I feel blessed to have my whole family with me, Aditya, my brothers, sisters, and children. Baba has granted us his darshan and blessings."
Yami also praised the temple authorities for maintaining the shrine and ensuring cleanliness and safety for the large number of devotees who visit it.
The Mahakaleshwar temple has seen visits from several film personalities in recent months, including Kailash Kher, Madhur Bhandarkar and Celina Jaitley. Last month, Tamannaah Bhatia visited the shrine and took part in the Bhasma Aarti.
In April, Dhurandhar actor Sara Arjun visited the temple with her parents, Raj Arjun and Sanya Arjun. Akshay Kumar, who visits the temple frequently, also went there earlier this year with his mother-in-law, actor Dimple Kapadia, during the promotions of Bhooth Bangla. Tiger Shroff visited the temple in March.
