Actor Dhanush and the team of the upcoming film Om congratulated Megastar Mammootty on receiving the Padma Bhushan. The celebration took place on the film’s set, where the crew marked Mammootty’s achievement.

Photos released by Dhanush’s production company, Wunderbar Films on its X handle, showed Dhanush congratulating Mammootty during the on-set celebration. The images captured moments from the event held with the film’s team.

In one of the pictures, Dhanush is seen shaking hands with the veteran actor. In another photo, Mammootty is seen cutting a large cake on the set of Om as Dhanush and the crew clap for him.

Mammootty received the Padma Bhushan from President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 23, 2026. After the ceremony, he along with his actor-son Dulquer Salman met Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

PM Modi shared the pictures from the meeting on his Instagram handle and wrote, "Met the noted actor Mammootty and his family after the Padma ceremony earlier today (sic)."

Mammootty's filmography

Mammootty,74, began his acting journey with a credited role in the Malayalam film Vilkkanundu Swapnangal (1980) before steadily rising through the ranks with a series of memorable performances. His breakthrough came with Sandhyakku Virinja Poovu (1983), establishing him as one of Malayalam cinema's leading stars.
