Vijay's son Jason Sanjay names Yash's KGF his favourite mass entertainer
Jason Sanjay has named Yash-starrer KGF his favourite commercial film. He is currently preparing for his directorial debut, Sigma, starring Sundeep Kishan.

Ahead of the release of his directorial debut Sigma, Jason Sanjay has revealed the film that shaped his idea of mainstream commercial cinema. The son of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and actor-turned-politician Vijay said Yash's KGF remains his favourite commercial film, adding that no other mass entertainer has impressed him more.
Speaking during the promotion of Sigma, Jason praised director Prashanth Neel for blending a fictional narrative with a historical backdrop while delivering a quintessential mass film.
"KGF is my favourite commercial film. It is a fictional story set against a historical backdrop, but the way it convinces the audience while remaining thoroughly mass-oriented is remarkable. I also love the overall tone of the film. You can see that the director completely committed himself to the genre and the story," he said in an interview with Behindwoods TV.
Jason is making his directorial debut with Sigma, which features Sundeep Kishan as the lead. Having studied filmmaking in the United States, he has been actively promoting the film ahead of its release and speaking about the influences that have shaped his filmmaking.
Sigma was initially scheduled for release on July 31 but has reportedly been postponed.
Meanwhile, headlined by Yash, KGF: Chapter 1 and KGF: Chapter 2, directed by Prashanth Neel and produced by Hombale Films, were released in 2018 and 2022 respectively. The two-part franchise emerged as a pan-India blockbuster, earning acclaim for its stylised action, expansive world-building and larger-than-life storytelling.
