Days after the death of legendary Tamil filmmaker, actor and screenwriter K Bhagyaraj, his actor-son Shanthnu Bhagyaraj and daughter Sharanya Bhagyaraj, former actor and a fashion designer, paid heartfelt tributes to their father on social media. Both shared emotional posts remembering the celebrated filmmaker, who died on June 27 after suffering a massive heart attack. He was 73.

Shanthnu shared a video clip from a throwback event celebrating Bhagyaraj's 50th year in the film industry, where he had spoken about his admiration for his father. In the video, he said, "If I could, I would like to take away 10 years from my life span and give it to my father, because you should make many more films for another 10 years, and even longer. There are still many stories that you should tell people. As a fan and a learner, I want to watch it and learn."

Sharing the clip, Shanthanu wrote, "Only if I could Appa," a caption that resonated with fans and members of the film fraternity, who offered their condolences in the comments section.
