Mohanlal hints Drishyam may continue beyond part 3 with possible sequels
Mohanlal said at the Drishyam 3 trailer launch that Georgekutty's story may go beyond the third film. His remarks have amplified interest in the release and left the next sequel open to audience response.

Actor Mohanlal has hinted that the Drishyam franchise may extend beyond its upcoming third instalment, suggesting that the story of Georgekutty might not end anytime soon.
Speaking at the trailer launch of Drishyam 3, Mohanlal indicated that more sequels could follow, depending on how audiences respond to the film, which is set to release on May 21.
‘Georgekutty may not be done yet’
At the event, Mohanlal said he has often felt that Georgekutty’s story still has room to grow. “I have asked for Georgekutty to be saved multiple times, but he is still not saved. So you can expect a Drishyam 4 also,” he said.
He clarified that the remark was not made lightly. “This is not a joke. Let people watch the film and decide whether we should do a sequel – maybe a fourth or even a fifth part,” he added.
The actor also revealed that producer Antony Perumbavoor has already been thinking ahead, with conversations around a potential fifth instalment taking place even before work on a fourth film begins.
About the franchise
Directed by Jeethu Joseph, the Drishyam series began in 2013 and went on to become one of Malayalam cinema’s most successful thriller franchises. Mohanlal’s portrayal of Georgekutty – a seemingly ordinary man navigating extraordinary circumstances – has remained central to its appeal.
Drishyam 2 released in 2021 and premiered directly on streaming platforms during the pandemic, further expanding the franchise’s reach.
The story has also been adapted into multiple languages, including a Hindi version starring Ajay Devgn and a Telugu version featuring Venkatesh Daggubati.
