Actor Priyanka Mohan has been appointed as the Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism by the Korea Tourism Organization (KTO). Sharing the news on social media, the actor expressed her gratitude to the Korean government and KTO for choosing her to help strengthen cultural ties between Korea and India.
Announcing the honour, Priyanka said she was delighted to be associated with a country whose culture and traditions have long inspired her. "Beyond grateful for this incredible honour. Being appointed as the Honorary Ambassador for Korea Tourism is truly very special to me. I'm sincerely thankful to the Korean government and the Korea Tourism Organization for recognising me as someone who can help bring Korean culture closer to Indian audiences," she wrote.
The actor further added, "Korea's culture, traditions, and warmth have always inspired me, and I'm very happy to be part of this beautiful journey. A heartfelt thank you to the President of the Korea Tourism Organization for the trust, kindness, and warm welcome. Looking forward to everything ahead."
Priyanka's appointment marks another milestone in her growing association with South Korea. Earlier, she was invited to Rashtrapati Bhavan in New Delhi for a state dinner attended by South Korean President Lee Jae Myung, further highlighting her cultural engagement with the country.
Priyanka joins a growing list of Indian celebrities who have represented Korea Tourism in recent years. Actor Hina Khan was appointed as an Honorary Ambassador in May 2025 and actively promoted South Korea's scenic destinations, including locations popularised by K-dramas and K-pop culture, to Indian travellers. Actor and influencer Anushka Sen has also served as an Honorary Ambassador, working to strengthen youth exchange and cultural ties between India and South Korea through various initiatives and promotional campaigns.
The actor's connection with Korea was also reflected in her recent project Made in Korea, directed by Ra Karthik. The film premiered on Netflix on March 12 and featured Priyanka in the role of a woman who is deceived by her boyfriend and stranded in South Korea.
On the work front, Priyanka Mohan was recently announced as part of director Mari Selvaraj's upcoming film Manjanathi, which features music by Ilaiyaraaja. She will also be seen in Hemanth Rao's 666 Operation Dream Theatre, Vetri Maaran's Arasan, and an untitled film alongside Kavin.
