As Peddi enters its third weekend in theatres, the makers have rolled out an updated version of the film featuring nearly six minutes of additional footage. The move comes weeks after discussions surrounding the portrayal of Janhvi Kapoor's character Achiyyamma and criticism directed at certain scenes in the film.

The makers announced the update on social media, revealing that 5 minutes and 56 seconds of new footage had been added to the theatrical version. Interestingly, director Buchi Babu Sana had earlier spoken about several scenes that were removed from the final cut, including a matchmaking sequence involving Achiyyamma and an emotional scene featuring Jagapathi Babu.

Following the update, several social media users pointed out that some of these scenes appear to have been restored.

Fans who watched the revised version have also highlighted another major change. According to posts shared online, scenes criticised for objectifying Jahnvi Kapoor's character Achiyyamma', including the much-discussed moment in which Peddi kisses her without consent, have reportedly been removed from the film.

Reactions to the updated cut have been mixed. While many viewers felt the newly added footage improves the film's emotional flow and strengthens character motivations, particularly through additional scenes involving Janhvi Kapoor, Ram Charan and Rao Ramesh, others argued that the changes do not significantly alter the overall viewing experience.

Whether the revised version can provide an additional boost at the box office remains to be seen over the weekend.
