Sudhakar Rao, Principal Chief Commissioner of Income Tax for Bihar and Jharkhand, who confirmed that Dhoni retained the top spot in the individual taxpayer category in the region. Dr Rao also shared broader tax revenue figures from the region, revealing that Jharkhand contributed approximately Rs 12,000 crore in revenue during the last financial year, while Bihar contributed around Rs 8,000 crore. Against the combined revenue target of Rs 20,000 crore, Jharkhand emerged as the stronger contributor, with officials attributing the performance largely to the state’s industrial and commercial infrastructure.
