A groom in Jharkhand's Bokaro district arrived at his wedding on a decorated bullock cart as he used the occasion to promote a dowry-free marriage and celebrate local traditions.

Instead of travelling in a luxury vehicle, the groom arrived at the wedding venue on a traditionally decorated bullock cart which was prepared with the help of local residents.

After the ceremony, the bride was also bid farewell in the same cart. The wedding procession featured Kudmali folk music instead of a DJ, while members of the wedding party walked alongside, accompanied by traditional dance performances.

All the wedding rituals were performed according to Kudmali customs, in line with the community's cultural heritage.

The wedding has drawn attention for its message against the dowry system and its emphasis on preserving local customs over extravagant displays. Organisers said the ceremony was intended to show that marriages should be built on shared values and mutual respect rather than material exchanges or lavish spending.
