Pune man says meeting deaf and mute Zomato rider left him with one question
An Instagram video showing a speech-and-hearing impaired Zomato delivery executive's determination while delivering orders in Pune has gone viral.
For one Pune resident, collecting a food order became an unexpected lesson in resilience after he met a speech-and-hearing-impaired delivery executive waiting patiently in his apartment lobby.

There, he meets the delivery partner, who, despite being unable to speak or hear, greets him with a smile and calmly hands over the parcel.
According to Rathore, the apartment's security guard had not allowed the delivery executive to use the lift, a rule commonly enforced for delivery personnel in many residential societies, especially late at night. Yet, what struck him most was not the inconvenience, but the man's unwavering commitment to his work.
"I ordered food today. Went down to collect it; security dada told me the delivery partner can't speak or hear. He was still out there, navigating Pune traffic, reading the address, delivering with a smile on his face. Same job. Same chaos. Same pressure as anyone else on that bike," Rathore wrote alongside the video.
He added that the encounter left him reflecting on the excuses people often make in everyday life.
"Made me sit with a question, what's stopping the rest of us? We've got every sense working, every excuse running out. Respect where it's due," he wrote.

Rathore also shared that he cut the recording short and used the Notes app on his phone to communicate with the delivery executive. While he did not get to know much about the man's personal story, he expressed hope that their paths would cross again.
