In a video posted on Instagram, Sachin Tendulkar revealed that even during his playing days, he insisted on making his own tea before every match, preferring the moment over having someone serve it to him.

For Sachin Tendulkar, a cup of tea was more than just part of his morning routine during his playing days. It was a ritual that brought him a sense of calm before stepping onto the cricket field.
In a video posted on Instagram, the batting legend revealed that even during his playing days, he insisted on making his own tea before every match, preferring the moment over having someone serve it to him.
As he prepared a cup of tea in the video, Tendulkar recalled that he followed the routine every morning, including throughout his cricket career. He never wanted anyone entering his room before a match and therefore always made his own tea.
"Every morning, I did this. Even during my playing days. I would make my own tea in the room. The last thing I wanted was for someone to serve me tea in my room. So, I make it on my own," he said.
He explained that the habit stemmed from his desire to be alone before taking the field, adding that it had stayed with him long after retirement.
"Kyunki khelte hue toh match ke pehle, I didn't want anyone to enter my room. Ghar mein bhi wahi aadat hai. I like making my own stuff. Peaceful, enjoyable. Enjoy your tea (While I was playing, I didn't want anyone entering my room before a match. I still have the same habit at home. I enjoy making things myself. It's peaceful and enjoyable. Enjoy your tea),” he said.
In the caption of his post, Tendulkar shared how closely the simple ritual was tied to his cricketing journey: "A cup of tea has been part of more innings than most people realise.”
