Video: Man rams Scorpio into Gurugram woman's car, threatens her, daughter with rod
A mother and daughter complained that a Scorpio rammed their car in Gurugram and its driver attacked their car with an iron rod. The FIR was registered nearly 20 days later, and police are now examining dashcam and CCTV footage.
A mother and her daughter were attacked during a road rage incident in Gurugram on August 27. The FIR was registered nearly 20 days later after the woman repeatedly approached the police.
SCORPIO RAMMED INTO CAR, DRIVER BLOCKED WAY
The incident took place at AIT Chowk at around 10:09 pm on August 27. According to the victim, a Scorpio rammed into the car in which she was travelling with her daughter.
The woman alleged that after the collision, the Scorpio driver blocked their way by positioning his vehicle in front of their car. He then allegedly got out of the vehicle with an iron rod and abused the mother and daughter.
The accused allegedly used the rod to smash the car's headlights. The entire incident was captured on the car's dashcam, according to the victim.
FIR REGISTERED NEARLY 20 DAYS AFTER INCIDENT
The woman alleged that she approached the police several times after the incident and also submitted the dashcam footage as evidence. However, the FIR was registered nearly 20 days after the alleged road rage incident.
Police have registered a case against the unidentified Scorpio driver under Sections 125, 281 and 324(4) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS).
The victim said the Scorpio had a temporary registration number. Police are now probing the dashcam footage and CCTV footage from the area to identify the vehicle and the accused driver.
There is no detailed response yet from the police regarding the alleged delay in registering the FIR.
SAME GOLF COURSE ROAD AS SIA CASE
The incident comes days after the Shivani 'Siya' Chauhan road rage case on the same Golf Course Road. However, the mother-daughter incident took place before the Siya case.
