A woman’s gold chain was snatched in broad daylight at Jaipur’s busy Durgapura Market, and the entire act was caught on CCTV.
The incident took place around 4.30 pm on Friday when victim Mona Jain had reached market with her husband Ravi Jain for shopping. While Ravi went to a medical shop to buy medicines, Mona waited for him on their scooter.
Two men on a motorcycle approached the spot. One of them got off the bike, walked towards Mona from behind and suddenly grabbed the gold chain around her neck. Mona immediately ran after the snatcher, trying to catch him. However, he reached his motorcycle-borne accomplice, and the two fled the spot.
Police are examining the CCTV footage to identify and trace the accused.

A newly signed United States sanctions law grants the administration authority to impose tariffs of up to 100% on imports from the five largest buyers of Russian crude oil and natural gas within 30 days. Addressing a major global conference, Prime Minister Narendra Modi outlined India's energy transition roadmap, criticising elements that stall critical nuclear projects in courts. Emphasising a diversified clean energy basket, the transition encompasses nuclear power, hydropower, solar, wind, and other low-carbon sources. The government has established a target of 100 gigawatts of nuclear capacity by 2047, alongside plans to develop small modular reactors and widen participation in the sector. Furthermore, India's solar power capacity has surged from around two gigawatts twelve years ago to over 160 gigawatts today, expanding through rooftop installations for millions of homes and solar pumps for farmers.
