Investigators probing the death of realtor Ketan Agarwal have uncovered what they believe was a carefully planned murder conspiracy, with the accused allegedly conducting a rehearsal at Lohagad fort days before the incident, searching online for ways to kill him and even preparing answers for possible police questioning.

According to police sources, the first attempt to kill Agarwal was allegedly made on June 14. Days before that, accused Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary are believed to have carried out a practice run to work out how the plan would be executed at Lohagad fort.

The findings form part of an expanding investigation that has revealed alleged online searches, deleted messages and detailed planning before Agarwal's death.

ALLEGED REHEARSAL BEFORE THE CRIME

Police sources said investigators suspect that four to five days before the alleged attempt, Siya and Chetan met at another location and rehearsed how Agarwal would be pushed from the fort.

According to the probe, the duo had already gathered information about various spots at Lohagad and allegedly discussed the execution of the plan in detail.

Investigators believe the rehearsal involved deciding where Siya would stand, the direction from which Chetan would approach and how Agarwal would be pushed into the valley.

Police are examining these aspects as part of the alleged murder conspiracy.

The investigation has also revealed that the accused allegedly searched Google and YouTube for different methods of killing Agarwal before deciding that pushing him from Lohagad would be the easiest option.

ENGAGEMENT, RELATIONSHIP AND ALLEGED CONSPIRACY

According to police sources, Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary first met during a Diwali event. Their friendship later developed into a relationship and reportedly became known to some people during cricket matches held at Market Yard.

Police believe Siya's brother, Sahil Goyal, was aware of the relationship.

Meanwhile, through family connections, a marriage proposal between Ketan Agarwal and Siya was arranged. The couple got engaged in February.

Investigators claim that Siya distanced herself from Chetan after the engagement but later resumed contact with him.

Police suspect Siya was unwilling to go ahead with the marriage but did not find a way to end the engagement. During the investigation, officers came to believe that discussions between Siya and Chetan eventually led to an alleged plan to eliminate Agarwal.

Even as wedding preparations continued through March and April, including photoshoots, family functions and gift exchanges, investigators claim doubts over the marriage persisted.

HOODIE SWITCH TO AVOID RECOGNITION

Another detail under scrutiny is Chetan Chaudhary's alleged attempt to conceal his identity on the day of the incident.

According to police sources, Chetan wore a hoodie and covered his face while travelling to Lohagad. After following Siya and Agarwal towards the fort, he allegedly removed the hoodie and placed it inside his backpack.

Investigators believe he feared being recognised because Agarwal had interacted with him twice over video calls as Siya's close friend.

Police suspect that after Agarwal was allegedly pushed into the valley, Chetan put the hoodie back on, reverted to his earlier appearance and descended from the fort.

According to the investigation, he interacted normally with people on his way down and even stopped for tea before returning home.

ONLINE SEARCHES, PREPARED ANSWERS AND DELETED CHATS

Police sources said the accused allegedly anticipated questioning after the incident and prepared responses in advance.

Investigators claim the duo searched online to understand what questions police might ask and what punishment could follow in such a case.

The probe has also revealed that Siya and Chetan allegedly remained in contact through WhatsApp after returning home.

Several messages exchanged between them were allegedly deleted. Police are now attempting to recover the chats through forensic analysis.

Investigators believe the two were careful about what information remained on their phones and what was removed.

FAMILY DEMANDS JUSTICE

As the investigation progresses, Agarwal's family has questioned why objections to the marriage were never raised before the engagement.

A family member said, "When the other party, Siya Goyal's entire family, came regarding the wedding, they were told everything about Ketan; nothing was hidden from them. If she had any issues, why didn't she say so?"

The family member added, "She spent so much time with him - going out, dining together, doing everything - so why didn't she raise any objections then? Our only question is: if she didn't like our son, why didn't she just say 'no' on the very first day?"

"We simply want justice for our child and our family; that is all we expect from the government," the family member said.

The allegations cited by investigators remain part of the ongoing probe, and the case continues to be examined by police.
