NEET UG 2026: Punjab's Aryan Gupta tops, Rajasthan leads top 100
The NTA's NEET UG 2026 state-wise topper list placed Punjab's Aryan Gupta at AIR 1 and showed Rajasthan leading the top 100. The results also underscored strong representation by women and participation from all States and Union Territories.
The NEET UG 2026 results indicate that candidates from Punjab, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Haryana and Telangana featured prominently among the country's highest scorers, while every State and Union Territory also had a designated state topper.
The state-wise topper list released by the National Testing Agency (NTA) highlights both regional depth and wider participation across the country.
Punjab's Aryan Gupta secured All India Rank (AIR) 1 with a percentile of 99.9999, while Panshul Bansal of Haryana finished second with the same percentile.
Uplakshya Goyal from Rajasthan secured AIR 3, followed by Ayush Bhalotia of Bihar (AIR 4), Shravani Kudale of Maharashtra (AIR 5), Riya Ranjan of Bihar (AIR 6) and Aryan Dubey of Uttar Pradesh (AIR 7).
RAJASTHAN, MAHARASHTRA LEAD AMONG TOP 100
An analysis of the top 100 rank holders shows that Rajasthan had the strongest representation with around 12 candidates, followed by Maharashtra (11).
Punjab and Delhi each contributed eight candidates, while Tamil Nadu had seven and Gujarat and Karnataka had six each.
Haryana and Telangana also recorded multiple candidates in the top 100, reflecting a broad distribution of high-performing students across states.
WOMEN SECURE SEVERAL TOP POSITIONS
Female candidates featured prominently among the top ranks. Shravani Kudale (Maharashtra) and Riya Ranjan (Bihar) secured AIR 5 and AIR 6, respectively. Other women in the top 50 include Mansha Garg (Haryana), Vaishnavi Das (Karnataka), Kashvi Dhall (Delhi), Namala Prerana (Andhra Pradesh) and Ashi Goyal (Punjab).
The state topper list also shows women leading several States and Union Territories, including Andhra Pradesh, Delhi, Goa, Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Lakshadweep, Maharashtra, Nagaland and West Bengal, among others.
The NTA has published state toppers for all 36 States and Union Territories, including candidates from smaller regions such as Lakshadweep, Ladakh, Andaman and Nicobar Islands, Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Nagaland, indicating nationwide participation in the examination.
Among the notable state toppers are Namala Prerana (Andhra Pradesh, AIR 36), Kashvi Dhall (Delhi, AIR 24), Vaishnavi Das (Karnataka, AIR 20), Satwik Patnaik (Odisha, AIR 40) and Sabyasachi Laskar (West Bengal, AIR 35).
The NTA had earlier announced that Aryan Gupta and Panshul Bansal jointly secured the highest score of 715 out of 720 in NEET UG 2026. The examination was conducted after the June 21 re-test, with more than 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying for undergraduate medical admissions.
