Rekha Gupta launches 53 Delhi projects worth Rs 214 crore in unauthorised colonies
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched 53 development projects in unauthorised colonies across five Delhi constituencies. The Rs 214.12 crore plan aims to improve roads, drainage and sewerage for around 1.75 lakh residents.

Published byDelhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta on Sunday laid the foundation stones for 53 development projects worth Rs 214.12 crore in unauthorised colonies across five assembly constituencies as part of the Seva Sankalp Abhiyan campaign.
The projects are expected to benefit around 1.75 lakh people.
The works will be carried out in Kirari, Bawana, Mundka, Narela and Nangloi Jat, with a focus on improving basic civic amenities and infrastructure in unauthorised colonies.
The projects cover roads, drains, sewerage and drainage facilities in areas that have faced long-standing gaps in basic infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said development works were now being undertaken in a planned manner in areas that had long faced problems related to basic infrastructure. “Roads, drains, sewerage and drainage are basic rights of every citizen,” she said, adding that the government was ensuring that the benefits of development reached every lane and every area of Delhi.
According to a statement from the Chief Minister’s Office, 1,062 roads and lanes in 27 unauthorised colonies will be developed under the 53 projects. The works also include the development of around 89.82 km of road network and 147.69 km of drainage network. Kirari accounts for the largest share, with 27 works worth Rs 105.51 crore in 14 unauthorised colonies.
These include the development of 640 roads and lanes, 50.71 km of roads and 101.42 km of drainage network. In Bawana, nine works worth Rs 38.83 crore will be taken up, while Mundka will get five works worth Rs 22.05 crore, Narela four works worth Rs 14.48 crore and Nangloi Jat eight works worth Rs 33.25 crore.
The statement said the proposed stormwater drainage networks would help improve drainage and reduce waterlogging in these areas.
It added that the development of paved roads and lanes would improve local connectivity and help reduce dust from unpaved and damaged surfaces, as the projects are rolled out across the five constituencies.
