A purported screenshot of a Snapchat conversation allegedly between Siya Goyal, accused of killing her fiance, businessman Ketan Agarwal, and her friend has surfaced, adding a fresh twist to the case. The alleged conversation happened on May 25, around three weeks before 26-year-old Ketan was allegedly pushed into a gorge from Pune's Lohagad Fort by Siya (20) and her boyfriend Chetan Chaudhary (22).

In the alleged chat, Siya asks her friend to share her Aadhaar card so that she could book flight tickets for a wedding. Next comes the intriguing part of the conversation. Siya bluntly tells her friend that the wedding is never going to happen, but she needs to book the tickets.

"Aadhaar card front back bhej de. For wedding tickets jo hone nai wali par fir bhi bhej de (Send the front and back of your Aadhaar card. It's for booking wedding tickets for a wedding that is never going to happen, but send it anyway)," Siya's message to her friend said.

The friend later replied that the document has already been shared on WhatsApp.

Investigators are now probing the authenticity of the chat and examining whether the alleged flight booking was part of a larger plan to divert suspicion or create a false narrative after the murder.

Presently, it is not known if Siya's friend was aware of the alleged plot. However, police have identified a third individual, believed to be Chetan's classmate, who knew about the plan to kill Ketan.

SIYA, CHETAN SENT TO JUDICIAL CUSTODY

Ketan and Siya got engaged earlier this year, and were scheduled to marry in November in Udaipur, Rajasthan. Two special flights were also booked for the guests for the lavish wedding.

However, a pall of gloom descended upon the Agarwal family on June 18 after Ketan was allegedly pushed to his death from a cliff at Lohagad Fort.

The fresh development comes as the police intensified their examination of digital evidence and chats exchanged between Siya and Chetan. On Friday, the duo were sent to 14-day prison after the expiry of their police custody.

During the hearing, the police sought an extension of their custody. Siya and Chetan allegedly used "code words" in their conversations, and police said further interrogation of the duo was required. A second phone belonging to Siya was also recovered on Friday.

The public prosecutor argued that data from the mobile phones of Siya and Chetan were recovered only recently and they needed to be brought face-to-face to decipher the coded conversations. However, the court denied an extension of the police custody.
