In a shocking incident in East Delhi's Ashok Nagar near Mayur Vihar, a man was beaten to death with pieces of wood at around 5:00 AM. A security guard who tried to intervene was shooed away by the two assailants before they fled the scene. Delhi Police collected forensic samples from the bloodstained crime spot and seized CCTV footage from the vicinity to trace the route taken by the attackers. Both the victim and the two accused remain unidentified, and the motive behind the murder is yet to be ascertained as the investigation continues.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the centenary celebrations of Shriram College of Commerce, drawing a sharp contrast between India's condition in 2013 and 2026. Several demonstrating students sustained injuries during a march towards the official residence of the Chief Minister following a bandh call by student organisations and opposition parties. One demonstrator sustained a shattered leg bone requiring a surgical rod, ending aspirations to join the armed forces, while others suffered shoulder wounds. Over ten students at Jawaharlal Nehru University have accused a faculty member of sexual harassment, inappropriate sexual advances, and making lewd remarks during classes. The students have also alleged inappropriate behaviour and demands for sexual favours at the professor's residence inside the university campus. The Internal Complaints Committee has launched an investigation into the matter after multiple students came forward with allegations filed around a month ago. The university administration and Vice-Chancellor's office have not commented on the issue as the probe remains underway.
