A major political row has erupted in Telangana after a woman advertising entrepreneur, K Shobha Reddy, alleged that an individual claiming to be a close associate of Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy asked her to visit a guest house for an official meeting, which made her uncomfortable. In a recorded message and social media posts, the entrepreneur stated that she had been struggling to secure lawful advertising business opportunities without resorting to corruption or seeking unfair favours. Demanding dignity and equal opportunities, she urged Chief Minister Reddy to grant her an audience. The allegations triggered sharp reactions from opposition parties. The Bharat Rashtra Samithi challenged the Chief Minister to address her grievances, while the Bharatiya Janata Party demanded a transparent inquiry and strict legal action against anyone found exploiting women entrepreneurs.

IIT Bombay has issued an apology retracting its earlier remarks regarding the death of a second-year BTech student, Sahil Wakode, who died by suicide in his hostel room. The student allegedly took the extreme step hours after being caught using a mobile phone and ChatGPT during an examination. The Mumbai Police have registered a First Information Report (FIR) for abetment of suicide and invoked sections of the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act following a formal complaint by the student's family, who alleged caste discrimination and harassment by faculty members. In its latest communication, the institute acknowledged that it was inappropriate to characterize details of the events preceding his demise before investigations were concluded. Meanwhile, student protests erupted on campus demanding action against the named professor and the administration, while the Crime Branch continues its investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Election Commission of India has issued Special Intensive Revision notices to numerous residents across the national capital, including ministers, bureaucrats, former judges, and political leaders, triggering a major political controversy. Discrepancies leading to these notices include unmapped voter records from previous electoral rolls, name mismatches, age inconsistencies, and parental or spouse detail variations. While the opposition has alleged massive voter deletion and termed the exercise unconstitutional, the poll body and ruling representatives have defended the process, clarifying that receiving a notice does not signify immediate voter deletion. Authorities explained that the notices are part of a standard operating procedure aimed at updating and verifying electoral roll data, providing voters an opportunity to present documentation and submit responses before any final decision is taken. AIMIM has proposed forming an alliance with like-minded parties ahead of the Uttar Pradesh assembly elections to prevent the BJP from securing a third term in the state.
