The Supreme Court is set to deliver its verdict on whether petitions challenging the exclusion of the Chief Justice of India from the selection panel for appointing the Chief Election Commissioner and Election Commissioners should be referred to a five-judge Constitution bench. A two-judge bench comprising Justice Dipankar Datta and Justice S.C. Sharma is deciding this specific procedural point.
