Alpha box office Day 6: Alia Bhatt's spy thriller nears Rs 75 crore globally

Actors Alia Bhatt and Sharvari's Alpha continued its theatrical run on Wednesday with a steady performance at the box office, inching closer to the Rs 75 crore mark globally. Despite the usual weekday slowdown, the YRF Spy Universe film maintained a stable hold, taking its worldwide gross collection to Rs 74.89 crore after six days in theatres.
According to industry tracker Sacnilk, Alpha collected Rs 2.85 crore nett in India on Day 6 across 7,321 shows. With this, the film's total India nett collection stands at Rs 44.95 crore, while its India gross has reached Rs 53.59 crore.
Overseas, the Shiv Rawail directorial earned Rs 1.50 crore on its sixth day, pushing its international gross to Rs 21.30 crore. The film's worldwide gross collection now stands at Rs 74.89 crore, just shy of the Rs 75 crore milestone.
Alpha opened with Rs 9.25 crore nett in India on July 3 and recorded a worldwide opening of Rs 16.10 crore. The action thriller witnessed strong weekend growth, collecting Rs 11.50 crore on Saturday before rising to Rs 13.25 crore on Sunday. By the end of its opening weekend, the film had earned around Rs 34 crore nett in India and Rs 58.80 crore worldwide.
The film saw collections dip on its first Monday, earning Rs 3.85 crore nett across 6,997 shows. It bounced back slightly on Tuesday with Rs 4.25 crore nett across 7,173 shows, taking its India nett total to Rs 42.10 crore and worldwide gross to Rs 70.03 crore before Wednesday's collections.

The action thriller has received mixed reviews from critics. In its review, India Today rated the film 2.5 stars, praising Alia Bhatt's performance while pointing to inconsistencies in the screenplay.
A part of the review read, “That unevenness becomes Alpha’s biggest problem. The film keeps piling on twists, and while a few works, the constant barrage eventually becomes exhausting. Instead of building intrigue, the screenplay focusses more on building shock value.”
Directed by Shiv Rawail and written by Uday Chopra, Alpha is the seventh installment in the YRF Spy Universe. The film stars Alia Bhatt, Sharvari, Anil Kapoor, Bobby Deol and Dia Mirza in key roles.
