Kareena Kapoor, Kajol, Sonu Sood: Stars welcome Bappa home as celebrations begin

As the 10-day festival began on September 14, several Bollywood celebrities welcomed Lord Ganesha into their homes. From Kareena Kapoor, Shilpa Shetty to Sonu Sood, Ssunita Ahuja and others, celebrities marked the auspicious occasion with devotion and fanfare.

Shilpa Shetty and her husband, Raj Kundra, also welcomed Bappa home despite the heavy rains in Mumbai. This year, Shilpa brought home a miniature version of Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja as her Ganpati idol.

Sunita Ahuja, too, welcomed Bappa home and was seen dancing to the beats of the dhol as she joined the festivities.

Kajol also shared a selfie with Ganpati Bappa on Instagram and wrote, “#ganpattibappamorya #theseareafewofmyfavoritethings. My daughter gave me the saree, my best friend crocheted the gajra in my hair @kamalrukhkhan, my other best friend called me for darshan @bhaavgandhi and Bappa gave me his blessing. I am so loved (sic).”

Riteish Deshmukh and Genelia D’Souza also welcomed Lord Ganpati and shared pictures on Instagram. “Bappa has arrived. Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to you and your entire family from Deshmukh family. Oh my god!” he wrote.

Sharvari shared pictures with her family on Instagram and wished everyone on the auspicious occasion. “For me, it’s where my year begins and ends. A full circle of coming home to love, warmth, family, positivity and sooooo many modaks!!Thank you, Bappa for the wonderful year that it has been, stepping into the next season with Your blessings(sic).”

Kareena gave a glimpse of husband-actor Saif Ali Khan making a Ganpati idol at home. In another story, she shared a picture of the idol made by her younger son Jeh Ali Khan.

Salman Khan’s mother, Salma, was also seen performing a puja as she welcomed Ganpati Bappa at Sohail Khan’s house.

Tusshar Kapoor performed a puja at his residence as he welcomed Ganpati bappa at home.

Not to be missed, Amitabh Bachchan also embraced the festive spirit during his Sunday darshan with fans outside his residence.

Ganesh Chaturthi is among the most widely celebrated festivals in India, particularly in Mumbai, where Bollywood and television celebrities welcome Lord Ganesha into their homes every year.

The festival is observed over 10 days, with devotees bidding farewell to Bappa with the final immersion, or visarjan, on the 11th day.
