Kashmera Shah defends Ssunita, questions Rani Swarnakar's claims about Govinda

Actor Kashmera Shah has publicly defended Ssunita Ahuja, after actor Rani Swarnkar posted a controversial social media note containing allegations against Ssunita. The statement comes amid ongoing public speculation surrounding Govinda and his Roopa co-star Komal Rani.

Addressing the criticism on Instagram, Kashmera stated that women who protect their families are routinely given negative labels, noting this is the first time they have faced such severe accusations. "We are often called RUDE OBNOXIOUS DOMINATING FOCUSSED SELFISH just because we look out for our families but this is the first time we are called 'murderers'. So if every mother, wife, sister, aunt and their dogs are called murderers for protecting the 'one man' that they love, be it the father, the husband, the brother, and the dog then so be it (sic)," she wrote, directly tagging Ssunita and pledging her support.

In her post, Kashmera also questioned how a colleague could claim intimate knowledge of an actor's household. Reflecting on her three-decade career across 50 films, she wrote, "Since the beginning of my career, 30 years and 50 films in total not 'one co star' of mine knew anything about my personal life or feelings. The only person I told everything to was the person I married- Krushna Abhishek. I have never heard of such a bond in a work environment where a co worker knows such intimate details (sic)."

Kashmera’s response follows a social media note shared by Rani Swarnkar alleging that a woman was attempting to "mentally harass" her own husband and "drive him to the point of death." Without naming Ssunita directly, Rani wrote, "The curses of a woman who has been trying to kill her own husband for years do not affect anyone," adding that "nobody ever can be a homebreaker in already broken house (sic)."

Rani's statement followed a video from the Dakshineshwar Kali Temple, where Ssunita commented on her marriage being under strain. Speculation regarding Govinda and Komal began earlier this year following joint public appearances at Mumbai airport and Lalbaugcha Raja. Govinda and Ssunita Ahuja married in 1987 and have two children, Tina Ahuja and Yashvardhan Ahuja.
