SRK bows down to Lalbaugcha Raja, visits pandal with Suhana and Gauri
Actor Shah Rukh Khan offered prayers at Mumbai's Lalbaugcha Raja pandal, joined by Gauri and Suhana. The visit continued his annual association with the festival as crowds and tight security marked the occasion.
Actor Shah Rukh Khan visited Mumbai’s iconic Lalbaugcha Raja pandal to offer prayers during the ongoing Ganesh Chaturthi festivities, accompanied by his wife Gauri Khan, daughter Suhana Khan, and manager Pooja Dadlani. In a video captured at the marquee, the actor is seen bowing down before Lord Ganesha to seek blessings. Dressed in a navy blue pathani kurta set with a traditional red tilak on his forehead, Shah Rukh joined his family and team members to pay his respects amidst heavy security.
Navigating the crowded venue alongside thousands of gathering devotees, the 60-year-old actor offered his respects before the idol. The visit continues his long-standing tradition of participating in the city's public festive rituals during Ganesh Chaturthi.
Captured on video inside the marquee, the actor bowed to touch the feet of the idol, with Gauri, Suhana, and Pooja following closely behind to pay their respects. He also paused briefly to interact with pandal organisers and staff members before making his exit from the venue.
While getting inside his car, he also waved at the fans. The video also showed the crowd attempting to take selfies with the superstar amid heavy security.
Lalbaugcha Raja is Mumbai’s most iconic public Ganesha idol, established in 1934 in central Mumbai. Renowned as Navasacha Ganpati (wish-fulfilling Ganesha), the 11-day Ganesh Chaturthi festival attracts millions of devotees, including celebrities and VIPs, featuring hours-long queues for darshan before its grand immersion at Girgaon Chowpatty.
Meanwhile, Shah Rukh is set for his next major big-screen venture, King, scheduled for a worldwide theatrical release on December 24, 2026. Mounted as a large-scale action thriller, the upcoming project features an ensemble cast including Deepika Padukone, Suhana Khan, Abhishek Bachchan, and Rani Mukerji. Produced jointly by Red Chillies Entertainment and Marflix Pictures, the film showcases the actor in a rugged, silver-haired avatar playing a seasoned assassin. Filming has progressed across international locations, including Poland and South Africa, positioning the action drama as one of the year's primary festive cinematic offerings.
