The Paradise Movie Release and Review Live: Nani fan calls film an 'epic disaster'

A fan of actor Nani has urged cinemagoers not to watch The Paradise. On X, a social media user wrote, "The Hell, please save your money don't go . This is geniune review trust me iam a nani fan but this time, epic disaster (sic)."

One pointed criticism came on the female lead of The Paradise. An X user wrote, "Lately, female lead roles in big-budget, over-hyped movies have become a major issue. Recent examples include Janhvi in Peddi and now Kayadu in The Paradise. It seems the narration offered before filming completely differs from the final product. That’s likely why these actors don't even show up for promotions. Unplanned budget hikes aimed at making the hero look like a demigod are ultimately backfiring. #TheParadise"

An X user gave The Paradise 0.1/5 stars and wrote, "The Paradise is 174 minutes of Nani in fishtail braids punching slums while pretending it’s art. Delayed thrice, trailer hidden like a crime, A-certified blood porn sold as “mother-son emotion.” Srikanth Odela just reshot Dasara louder."

The post added, "Anirudh’s BGM slaps harder than the plot. Villains exist to get hit. The 'India’s Mad Max' claim is the funniest joke in the film. Three hours of dusty self-importance and arterial spray. Paradise? This is a theme-park slum with a Messiah complex. Stay home. Your time has more dignity."

An X user commented on the backlash against The Paradise and wrote, "More than anything, this is a big blow to #Nani’s reputation and script judgement. Irrespective of his prev movie results every movie has some unique point but this time he got carried away by senseless action , over the top heroism and template setup. Waiting for his strong comeback (sic)."

Ahead of The Paradise release, Chiranjeevi extended his best wishes to Nani, director Srikanth Odela and the entire team. He praised their passion and conviction after Dasara and said he was looking forward to experiencing the film on the big screen.

A fan praised The Paradise's song Aaya Sher as a celebration."It’s the whole vibe and don’t ever miss witnessing this euphoria in theatres once in a lifetime experience ra babu (sic)," read the X post.

After negative reactions, memes against The Paradise have started flooding the Internet.

Nani-starrer The Paradise opened in theatres amid heavy buzz and fan celebrations, but the conversation around the film shifted quickly as negative reactions began to flood X. The film, which had recorded one of the biggest advance sales of Nani's career and crossed Rs 40 crore in worldwide pre-sales before regular shows, drew large crowds on release, only for much of the online response to turn sharply critical. An X user called The Paradise "Terrible" and wrote that it has "embarrassingly forced sequences to rage bait audience". The post added, "How far can one go with such atrocious fantasies for delivering an emotional moment. #TheParadise tests the patience of audience in every scene (sic)."

An X user dissed The Paradise by writing, "Except for the first 15 min, the entire half was absolutely trash. Then the next half came in and we felt Liger was such a good movie #Nani, you’re not meant for larger movies. You’re suited for light-hearted, emotional films like Hi Nanna.:

Despite criticism, The Paradise song Aaya Sher is a hit on social media. Several X users have praised the song. A new video has also surfaced in which fans can be seen dancing to the song in a theatre. The X user called the song "the most celebrated song in this decade."

Another video from Chennai shows a large crowd gathered outside a theatre at night, with fans cheering and celebrating the release of The Paradise.

Nani has built his reputation on bringing a sense of realism and relatability to even his most commercial performances. The Paradise, however, loses that grounding. Videos from theatres have surfaced on X showing fans celebrating The Paradise release. They can be seen dancing and cheering as Nani appears on the big screen, with confetti adding to the festive atmosphere.

Ahead of the release of The Paradise, Nani’s wife Anjana Yelavarthy shared a heartfelt note for the actor on Instagram, reflecting on his journey and the response to the film. She recalled a memory from 2009, when she and a couple of others bunked college to watch one of his films, only to find that it did not even have a morning show on release day.

Anjana wrote that she remembered thinking how hard it must be for a newcomer to get a film out on time, and said that 16 years later, seeing people turn up for Paradise because of that trust was emotional and something the family was grateful for. She also summed up that long journey in a line she retained in the post: “This ‘Rome’ was definitely not built in a day and I’m witness to it.”

Actor Nani earlier clarified that the Bengaluru court order restricting defamatory and targeted content about the movie is not aimed at restricting genuine audience reactions, reviews or criticism. Amid a wave of negative reviews for The Paradise, X users have started praising actor Yash's Toxic.

Director Srikanth Odela’s The Paradise begins with a prologue before unfolding across several chapters. The chapters come with elaborate names, such as Womb of Scars, Butterfly and Womb of War. While the chapter structure is presumably intended to give the sprawling story a clear shape, it instead makes the film feel fragmented and lacking in cohesion. The Paradise created box office history for the actor hours before its grand premiere, securing the largest opening-day start of his career through advance ticket sales alone. Driven by global pre-sales and paid premiere shows, the action drama crossed the Rs 40-crore gross mark worldwide prior to the commencement of its first regular morning shows on September 24.

Another social media review of The Paradise read that it is a roast material from start to end, barring a promising start. An X user wrote, "Writing ragebait scenes involving violence against women isnt how you bring emotions Love-dela. Plastic film about plastic characters with some hilarious moments in between. Outrightly bad (sic)."

Another X user took a subtle dig at The Paradise, saying, "Just finished watching #TheParadise… The movie is good, but it has two drawbacks. If those had been fixed, it could have been a blockbuster. One is the first half, and the other is the second half. Rest, everything is good...(sic)."

X reviews for Nani's The Paradise have started coming in. A viewer called the film a below-average entertainer. "The first half was at least passable, but the second half was completely flat and travels elsewhere throughout the film !! Even Anirudh's background in the 2nd half didn't work (sic)," the post said.

Actor Vijay Deverakonda also wished The Paradise team on X. On Wednesday, he posted, "Wishing the entire team of #TheParadise - @NameisNani, @odela_srikanth and the incredible big cast of the film all the very best for its release tonight. The songs have become personal favourites, and I’m really looking forward to a film rooted in the courage and revolutionary spirit of Telangana - a story that feels deeply personal to all of us."

Wishing the team 'all glory', he added, "May Telugu cinema continue to grow leaps and bounds, and may we keep telling stories that are bold, rooted and uniquely our own."

Actor-producer Sundeep Kishan is also among the celebrities who wished The Paradise team on X ahead of its release. On X, he wrote, Wishing Dear @NameisNani Boy only the very Best for Tomorrow .. praying for your inspiring passion to win Big Time."

"Dear @odela_srikanth, excited for/of /by you and your madness. Wishing Dear @anirudhofficial, @11Lohar and the entire team of Favs a massive success," he continued.

Actor Nivetha Thomas, who has starred opposite Nani in Gentleman (2016) and Ninnu Kori (2017), also extended her wishes. On X, she responded to Nani's post and wrote, "I hope to see this team succeed in all ways! Paradise is here (sic)."

Dulquer Salmaan gave a shout-out to The Paradise ahead of its release. In an X post on Wednesday, he said he is always rooting for Nani and expressed his excitement to watch the film. He also wished the actor and the entire team massive success.
