Over and out - The ceremony comes to a close with one final photograph, as all three teams come together for the cameras. India take the top prize - It is now time for India to step onto the podium and receive their gold medals. It is a second straight gold medal for Harmanpreet Kaur and her side at the Asian Games, but it is about taking that next step and doing better on the global stage, with the Champions Trophy scheduled to be played in India next year. Anyway, it is now time for the Indian national anthem to be played out.

Another silver for Sri Lanka - Next, Chamari Athapaththu-led Sri Lanka receive their silver medals, along with a memento. It is their second successive silver medal since the sport returned to the Asian Games. They would have hoped for a different colour this time around, but it was not to be. As always, though, Chamari will be proud of her side's efforts.

Pakistan back on the podium - First up, it will be Pakistan, the bronze medallists, who will receive their medals as well as a mascot figurine as a memento. Pakistan missed out on a medal at the previous edition but have made it onto the podium this time around. Earlier today, Fatima Sana's side came out on top against Bangladesh to secure the bronze medal.

Here come the teams - The dignitaries lead the way as the three teams make their way out to the middle, wearing their official Asian Games jackets. Pakistan come out first, followed by India and then Sri Lanka. The stadium announcer introduces the dignitaries present, who will be on hand to present the medals to the players.

Time for the medal ceremony...

The victorious Indian captain - Harmanpreet Kaur says the gold medal means a lot to them, and they spoke about the importance of maintaining their standards throughout the tournament. She adds that everyone who got an opportunity came up with a solid performance, which makes her very happy as a captain. Kaur says going unbeaten and going all the way was exactly what they expected of themselves. Harmanpreet praises the effort put into developing their pace unit, making special mention of Kranti's hard work and noticeable improvement. She concludes by praising the spin attack, reaffirming her complete confidence in their proven quality while singling out Sree Charani and Deepti Sharma for bowling exceptionally well across the tournament.

First up, it's Richa Ghosh - Richa says it is a really good feeling, adding that the journey started with a focus on winning the gold medal and making the country proud. When asked about the difference between winning a trophy and a medal, she says standing on the podium and singing the national anthem is a completely different feeling and that the two cannot be compared. On the celebrations, Ghosh says they do not like to plan anything in advance, with the focus always on winning the match. She adds that celebrations are certainly due for both the Asia Cup triumph and this gold medal.

Earlier in the game - After opting to bat first, the usual suspects were at it again as India posted 216, the highest total in women's cricket at the Asian Games. The opening pair of Smriti Mandhana and Shafali Verma yet again came through for the team with a 99-run stand before Richa Ghosh provided the finishing touches with her blitzkrieg.

Sri Lanka never got going - The script from the Asia Cup repeated itself as Sri Lanka simply crumbled under the scoreboard pressure. Chamari Athapaththu's 29 was the highest score, with only two other batters managing to get into double digits. Apart from an early blemish in the field from Shreyanka Patil, India were tidy in the field, backing up the bowling effort. Spin did all the damage, with Deepti Sharma being the star of the show with figures of 3/6 from her 4 overs. This 147-run win is India's biggest in Women's T20I history.

Gold for India - The first gold medal for the Indian contingent at this year's Asian Games, and it has come courtesy of Harmanpreet Kaur's side. India have asserted their continental dominance in women's cricket, first with the Asia Cup title and now with the gold medal, following up on their gold-medal finish at the previous Asian Games. Sri Lanka were the second-best team on the day by a long way and will have to settle for the silver medal, with Pakistan clinching bronze.

A mountain to climb - Sri Lanka have it all to do, but they can take confidence from the way they chased 178 against Pakistan in the semifinal, their highest successful chase in T20I cricket. However, a much tougher challenge awaits them today, both in terms of the target and the quality of the bowling attack they are up against. A lot will rely on how they start, with Chamari Athapaththu needing to lead the charge. Stick around as the chase is coming up shortly.

New day, same impact - It was indeed the case for the Indian opener, who once again came through for her side with a 99-run opening stand. Shafali Verma fell just short of a fifty, but Smriti Mandhana carried on even after bringing up her half-century to keep the momentum going for India. Sri Lanka could not close out the innings well either, as Richa Ghosh put on a finishing masterclass, with 53 runs coming off the last 3 overs.

Power on show - What a finishing kick provided by Richa Ghosh to help India post 216, the highest score in the history of women's cricket at the Asian Games. They have eclipsed the previous best of 202, posted by Hong Kong, China against Mongolia in the previous edition. From start to finish, India dictated the terms, and it would be fair to say they have one hand on the gold medal.

In conversation with India's star opener - Shafali Verma starts by sharing her experience in Japan, saying the team is thoroughly enjoying their time here in Japan and the local cuisine. She adds that the wickets have been good to bat on as well. Asked if she keeps an eye on her numbers, Shafali says the numbers do give you confidence, but her focus is on doing well for the team and helping them win. On playing Sri Lanka not too long ago, Shafali says that experience does help in understanding the strengths and weaknesses of the opposition.
