Just days after enjoying a dream Test debut for India, left-arm spinner Manav Suthar continued his impressive run by making an instant impression in county cricket for Warwickshire during their County Championship Division One clash against Yorkshire on Saturday.

The 23-year-old, who was adjudged Player of the Match in India's recent one-off Test against Afghanistan, picked up 3 for 85 from 21 overs on his Warwickshire debut as Yorkshire were dismissed for 469 in 110.4 overs early on the second day.

Suthar's first wicket in county cricket came when he accounted for Yorkshire's number three batter Sam Whiteman, shortly after the latter had brought up his half-century on the opening day.

He then struck again late in the day by trapping opener William Luxton leg-before, ending a superb innings of 167 from 261 deliveries. The spinner completed his three-wicket haul on day two when he removed George Hill, helping trigger Yorkshire's slide from an overnight score of 386 for 6 to 469 all out.

Warwickshire have signed Suthar for the next two Championship fixtures, and he is also expected to feature in their upcoming encounter against Somerset at Taunton.

The Rajasthan left-armer arrived in England on the back of a remarkable international debut. Against Afghanistan, he struck with his very first over in Test cricket and finished with match figures of 7 wickets, including a stunning 6 for 33 in the first innings and 1 for 29 in the second, as India cruised to victory by an innings and 300 runs.

Suthar's rise to the national side followed a series of consistent performances in domestic cricket, where he has claimed 136 wickets in first-class matches at an average of 24.89 for Rajasthan.

Elsewhere, experienced India seamer Jaydev Unadkat maintained his strong run for Sussex, delivering an excellent spell against Glamorgan in the County Championship.

The left-arm pacer returned figures of 4 for 29 from 14.2 overs, playing a key role in dismissing Glamorgan for just 155 in 51.2 overs.

Unadkat is currently in his second season with Sussex after extending his association with the county through a two-year contract signed in 2024. His latest performance further underlined the value he has brought to Sussex's bowling attack since arriving in English county cricket.
