Asaduddin Owaisi is an Indian politician and the President of the All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen, an Indian political party. A four-time Member of Parliament (MP) from the Hyderabad constituency in Lok Sabha, Owaisi made his political debut in 1994 from the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly election, contesting from the Charminar constituency. In 2019, Owaisi won a fourth term as the leader of the AIMIM and was elected to the 17th Lok Sabha.
Asaduddin Owaisi was born on May 13, 1969, to Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, a politician and his wife, Najmunnisa Begum. He hails from a political family of Hyderabad and has a younger brother named Akbaruddin Owaisi who is also an Indian politician and a leader of AIMIM. Asaduddin Owaisi completed his graduation with a degree in Bachelors of Arts from Nizam College of Osmania University in Hyderabad. He further went to London to pursue his LLB from Lincolns Inn.
On December 11, 1996, Asaduddin Owaisi got married to Farheen Owaisi. The couple has six children; one son named Sultanuddin Owaisi and five daughters named Khudsia Owaisi, Yasmeen Owaisi, Ameena Owaisi, Maheen Owaisi and Atika Owaisi.
Apart from politics, Owaisi is also the chairman of Owaisi Hospital and Research Centre which is located in Hyderabad. Being awarded the 2014 Sansad Ratna award (Gem of parliamentarians) for his performance in the 15th session of the Indian Parliament, Asaduddin Owaisi is also listed among the 500 most influential Muslims in the world.
