Election Commissioner 

An Election Commissioner is a member of the Election Commission of India, the constitutional body responsible for conducting elections in the country. The Commission currently consists of the Chief Election Commissioner and two Election Commissioners. All three members have equal voting rights in the Commission’s decision-making, with matters decided by majority. Election Commissioners are appointed by the President of India and serve for six years or until they turn 65, whichever is earlier. They have the same status, salary and other benefits as Supreme Court judges.
