Rao Inderjit Singh, an esteemed Indian politician and Minister of State in the Government of India, represents the Gurugram constituency in Haryana. Born on February 11, 1951, in Rewari, Haryana.
Rao Inderjit Singh belongs to an eminent Royal Yadav family. His ancestry traces back to Raja Rao Tula Ram, a renowned freedom fighter during India’s first war of independence in 1857. He was born to Maharaja Rao Birendra Singh, who served as the second Chief Minister of Haryana, and Rani Chandra Prabha. He completed his graduation from the Delhi University’s Hindu College. He’s married to Manita Singh and the couple has two daughters.
Rao Inderjit Singh was MLA in the Haryana Legislative Assembly from 1977, where he served for four terms. In particular, from 1982 until his 1987, he held the prestigious position of Provincial Minister of State for Food and Civil Supplies. He served as the 12th Lok Sabha member from Mahendragarh under the banner of Indian National Congress (INC).
Subsequently, the 14th, 15th, and 16th Lok Sabhas were from Mahendragarh and Gurgaon, all under his INC and later under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Rao Inderjit Singh is currently serving as Union Minister of State for Planning, Statistics, and Programme Implementation and MoS for Corporate Affairs in the Narendra Modi Ministry.

Rao Inderjit Singh, the Minister of Planning, Statistics, and Programme Implementation, has said that the government must address the NEET examination controversy, or else the country’s youth will lose faith in the government. “The children and youth are asking what will happen to NEET. The government has considered something; something needs to be done about NEET. Otherwise, in the future, the children's faith in politics and administration will diminish,” the minister said at a public function. The minister, who is from Haryana, also stated that paper leaks took place in Haryana as well.
