Bengaluru woman's vigorous workout on park gym machine raises safety concerns
The 10-second video, shared by Bengaluru-based X user Sandeep Parswanath, shows the elderly woman using an air swing machine with vigorous back-and-forth motion that appears sped up.

A video showing an elderly woman in a saree vigorously using an outdoor gym machine in a Bengaluru park has gone viral, with social media users urging the city's civic body to install safety guidelines next to public exercise equipment.
The 10-second clip, shared by Bengaluru-based X user Sandeep Parswanath, shows the woman using an air swing machine with vigorous back-and-forth motion that appears sped up. Several bystanders, including children, can be seen watching nearby.
Parswanath questioned whether the equipment was safe to use without supervision in the caption of his post.
"Is this not dangerous without supervision? Who will take responsibility if something happens? BBMP should install clear usage guidelines and safety instructions on boards next to each outdoor gym equipment in parks," he wrote.
Parswanath called on the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) to place clear usage instructions and safety boards next to outdoor gym equipment, arguing that unsupervised use, particularly by senior citizens, could pose risks.
The incident ultimately highlighted differing views on public safety, with some urging the BBMP to install usage guidelines alongside outdoor gym equipment, while others argued that no amount of signage can replace common sense.
