A Brazilian couple set a Guinness World Records mark with 195 kisses in 30 seconds. The attempt tied their relationship to Renato's wider record-breaking ambitions as they prepare for another challenge.

A Brazilian couple has turned their love into a record-breaking achievement after completing nearly 200 kisses in just half a minute to claim a new Guinness World Records title.
Renato Bayma Gaia and his girlfriend Naiara Roberta Ribeiro de Marins, both from Brazil, set the record for the most kisses in 30 seconds by a pair after managing a total of 195 kisses, according to a report by Guinness World Records.
The record came at a fitting time, with the achievement coinciding with International Kissing Day. The couple said they decided to attempt the challenge together because they believed they were the “best couple in the world” and wanted to share the moment as a team.
Renato, 32, and Naiara, 33, have been together for around a year and a half. Both doctors, the couple had also worked on the frontline during the coronavirus pandemic before adding a Guinness World Records title to their list of achievements.
In footage shared by Guinness World Records, Renato could be seen wearing a jersey of his favourite football team, So Jos E.C., while rapidly planting kisses on Naiara’s cheek as she smiled throughout the challenge.

The attempt was another milestone in Renato’s growing collection of records. According to Guinness World Records, he has previously achieved titles including the fastest time to set up and topple 10 books and the largest foot rotation (male).
With the latest achievement, Renato said he believed he had become the Brazilian with the most world records. Beyond adding another title to his name, he also wanted to ensure that Naiara’s name became part of his record-breaking journey.
Renato, who holds a black belt in taekwondo, described himself as being “addicted to winning” and said he hopes his record attempts can motivate others to chase their own goals.
Speaking to Guinness World Records, he said, “I am a bone marrow donor, and I have ADHD and I want to prove that people with ADHD are capable of everything they want.”
He also expressed hope that his achievements would encourage more people in Brazil to take part in Guinness World Records challenges.
The couple is already looking ahead to another attempt, they plan to challenge the record for the most kisses in one minute by a pair, which is currently held by Japan’s Cherry Yoshitake, also known as Mr Cherry, and Kumiko Shiratori, with 277 kisses.
For Renato and Naiara, the record was not just about speed or numbers, but about creating a shared memory that combined their relationship, ambition and love for challenges.
