An X post on Archit Chandak's decision to reject a Rs 35 LPA job offer and join the IPS has gone viral. The post has drawn praise online, with many users seeing it as a story of purpose and self-belief.

From rejecting a Rs 35 LPA offer to wearing the IPS uniform, Archit Chandak's unconventional career choice is winning praise online.
An X post recounting his journey has resonated with thousands of users. For many engineering graduates, a high-paying job offer is the ultimate reward after years of hard work. But for IIT Delhi alumnus Archit, it was an opportunity he willingly walked away from.
Instead of taking up the role with a Japanese company, he chose to prepare for the UPSC Civil Services Examination, a decision that eventually saw him become an IPS officer in his very first attempt. His story is now winning hearts online, with many calling it a powerful reminder that purpose can outweigh pay.
The journey resurfaced after an X post by user Vikas Alwys highlighted Chandak's unconventional career choice. The post has since gone viral, drawing praise from users who admired his confidence in choosing public service over a lucrative corporate career.
“Meet Archit Chandak, a B.Tech 2016 Mechanical Engineering graduate from IIT Delhi who rejected a Rs 35 LPA job offer from a Japanese company and became an IPS officer, currently serving as SP in Maharashtra,” the post read.
Born and brought up in Nagpur, Chandak had an impressive academic record long before his UPSC success. According to the post, he topped the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) in his city in 2012, securing admission to IIT Delhi, one of the country's most prestigious engineering institutions.
After completing his degree, he received a lucrative offer from a Japanese company. However, rather than stepping into the corporate world, he decided to dedicate himself to preparing for one of India's toughest competitive examinations.

The gamble paid off. Chandak cleared the UPSC Civil Services Examination in 2018 on his very first attempt, securing All India Rank 184. He initially served as Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) in Nagpur and is now posted as the Superintendent of Police (SP) in Maharashtra.
The viral post concluded with a reflection on the role of self-belief in shaping one's future. “Life should always be in our control. See how confident he was that he could reject a Rs 35 LPA job offer and prepare for something completely from scratch. Self-belief can do wonders,” it read.
As the post continues to circulate online, many users say Chandak's story is less about turning down a salary and more about having the conviction to pursue a path that aligned with his ambitions and sense of purpose.
