Man books Rs 4,000 flight for Zomato rider. Next day, he gets an unexpected call
A man booked a flight for a Zomato delivery partner after learning his mother was in the ICU following a fall. The post drew praise online and later brought word that she was out of danger.

A food delivery in the rain turned into something far more meaningful after a customer noticed the delivery partner's tear-filled eyes. Minutes later, a shared meal, a heartfelt conversation and a flight ticket home changed the course of one family's darkest day.
Ankit Pandey recalled that the delivery partner had visited his home several times before, so the two were already familiar with each other. When the rider arrived with his order, Pandey invited him inside to escape the rain and offered him a glass of water.
It was then that he noticed something was wrong.
"The moment he came in, I saw his eyes were red, as if he had been crying," Pandey wrote. When he asked what had happened, the delivery partner quietly replied, "Kuchh achha nahi hai, bhaiya (Things are not good, brother).”
After a little encouragement, the rider revealed that his mother had fallen down the stairs earlier that morning and had been admitted to the intensive care unit (ICU). Her condition was unstable, and the only train to his hometown was scheduled to leave at 11 pm—a journey that would take nearly 30 hours.
"He said, 'I don't even know if I'll be able to see her in time,'" Pandey wrote.
When Pandey asked if he had eaten, the rider said he had not. The two then shared the same meal before Pandey searched online for an alternative way to get him home.
He found a flight costing around Rs 4,000 and booked it immediately.
The delivery partner, however, admitted he had never been to an airport before. "Mai kabhi airport nahi gaya (I have never been to an airport), he told Pandey.
To reassure him, Pandey said a friend would help him navigate the airport and complete the journey.

A few hours later, the rider reached home, met his mother and called Pandey to thank him. Doctors later informed the family that she was expected to recover.
In a follow-up post, Pandey shared another heartwarming update. Once his mother was out of danger, the delivery partner transferred the entire Rs 4,000 back to him. Pandey immediately returned the money, saying the gesture was never about repayment.
The story resonated widely on social media, with users praising both the customer's kindness and the delivery partner's integrity. As one user wrote, "You both are gems. A small help in a difficult time can go a long way."
