Nepal Calamity: Death Toll Mounts, Thousands Missing In Dhungue Bazaar

An IndiGo flight operating from Goa to Delhi made a safe emergency landing at Mopa Airport in North Goa following an engine failure. Flight 6E 2102 took off for the national capital at 9:16 AM and was rerouted back to Goa after reporting a snag in one of its engines. Air Traffic Control declared a full emergency at 9:30 AM. The aircraft landed safely on Runway 28 at 9:51 AM and was parked at Stand 6, following which the emergency status was withdrawn at 10:03 AM. Standard operating procedures require the Directorate General of Civil Aviation to be notified for a full inspection of the aircraft, while an official statement from IndiGo remains awaited.

Fostering consensus, managing differences, and strengthening regional connectivity remain essential to unlocking economic potential and ensuring long-term stability across member nations.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, addressing Gen Z on Instagram, reiterated his call for Indians to embrace “swadeshi” by avoiding unnecessary gold purchases and destination weddings abroad. He urged people to follow the “Vocal for Local” and “Wed in India” mantras, saying such choices would strengthen India’s self-reliance. Modi also highlighted India’s 7.8% GDP growth in the first quarter of 2026-27 despite global uncertainty, wars and disrupted supply chains. Water was released from the Mettur Dam in Salem district after water levels reached the required 90-foot mark, bringing crucial relief for farmers in Tamil Nadu's Cauvery Delta region.
