Axis Bank appoints ex-Bandhan Bank finance chief Rajeev Mantri as CFO
Mantri will assume charge on September 28, 2026, subject to the necessary regulatory and statutory approvals, the bank said in a regulatory filing.

Private sector lender Axis Bank on Saturday announced the appointment of Rajeev Mantri, the former finance chief of Bandhan Bank, as its new Chief Financial Officer (CFO).
Mantri will assume charge on September 28, 2026, subject to the necessary regulatory and statutory approvals, the bank said in a regulatory filing.
He succeeds Puneet Sharma, who resigned in June to pursue opportunities outside the bank. Sharma, who has served as Axis Bank’s CFO since March 2020, will be relieved from the close of business on August 31, 2026.
Mantri brings more than two decades of experience in banking and financial services. He joins Axis Bank from Bandhan Bank, where he served as CFO and was responsible for financial strategy, capital management, business finance, investor relations and regulatory engagement.
Before joining Bandhan Bank, Mantri spent over 15 years at ICICI Bank, holding senior leadership roles across finance, business planning, analytics and strategy.
Axis Bank said Mantri’s appointment has been approved by its board and is subject to the approval of the Reserve Bank of India and shareholders, where applicable.
The appointment comes at a time when India’s third-largest private lender is focused on strengthening profitability, managing asset quality and driving growth across its retail and corporate banking businesses.
