Har Ghar Tiranga campaign: Delhi to procure 2 lakh flags from self-help groups
The Delhi government will source around 2 lakh Tricolours from self-help groups and distribute over 15 lakh national flags across the capital under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign ahead of Independence Day.
The Delhi government will source around 2 lakh Tricolours from self-help groups (SHGs) for distribution under the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign ahead of Independence Day, according to a statement issued by the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) on Sunday.
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said the government will distribute more than 15 lakh national flags across Delhi as part of the campaign.
She said the government has assigned an important role to SHGs across the national capital to promote public participation, patriotism and national unity. Around 2 lakh national flags will be produced through eligible SHGs identified by the State Urban Livelihood Mission.
Gupta said the Delhi government remains committed to making the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign a success by involving every section of society while also creating opportunities for the economic empowerment of SHGs.
The CMO said all national flags produced by the SHGs will strictly comply with the Flag Code of India, 2002, its amendments issued from time to time, the Prevention of Insults to National Honour Act, 1971, and the prescribed technical standards.
According to the government, these measures will ensure that every national flag reflects the dignity, honour and national pride associated with the Tricolour.
The government also said it will procure national flags from online marketplaces to ensure that the spirit of the 'Har Ghar Tiranga' campaign reaches every household in Delhi.
