The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released guidelines for Class 12 supplementary practical exams 2026. The exams are scheduled from July 29 to August 4.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has released the guidelines for the Class 12 supplementary practical examinations 2026. According to the official notice, the practical exams will be conducted from July 29 to August 4, 2026.
The supplementary practical examination is mandatory for students placed in the Compartment category under two conditions:
- Students who have been placed in the Compartment category due to Repeat Practical (RP) in any subject.
- Students who have been placed in the Compartment category due to Repeat Theory and Practical Both (RB) in any subject(s).
As per the CBSE notice, students placed in the Compartment category due to Repeat Practical (RP) will have to appear only for the practical examination during the supplementary exams. Their previous theory marks will be carried forward, and they will not be required to appear for the theory paper again.
However, students placed in the Compartment category due to Repeat Theory and Practical Both (RB) will have to appear for both the theory and practical examinations during the CBSE Class 12 Supplementary Examinations 2026.

EXAM CENTRE DETAILS
For regular candidates, the practical examinations will be conducted at their respective schools. Meanwhile, practical exams for private candidates will be held at the examination centres allotted for their theory papers.
In cases where a school or examination centre does not have the required facilities to conduct practical examinations for a particular subject, the concerned CBSE Regional Office may arrange the exams at a nearby school or examination centre.
SCHOOLS TO UPLOAD PRACTICAL MARKS ON THE SAME DAY
CBSE has directed schools and examination centres conducting the supplementary practical exams to upload the marks awarded to candidates on the portal on the same day as the examination.
The board has clarified that once the marks are uploaded, they will be considered final, and no requests for changes will be accepted thereafter.
