Breaking the mold of traditional career paths, Hasitha Narayanabhatta, an IIT Madras BS in Data Science and Applications student, has been crowned Miss Universe Telangana 2026. The engineering graduate will now represent Telangana at the Miss Universe India competition, adding another milestone to her impressive journey.
A BTech graduate from GNIT Hyderabad, Hasitha has successfully balanced academic excellence with her passion for pageantry. Her achievement highlights how students can pursue diverse interests while excelling in both education and extracurricular fields.
Further strengthening her academic profile, Hasitha has completed training in Remote Sensing and Digital Image Analysis at the Indian Institute of Remote Sensing (IIRS), ISRO. With expertise spanning engineering, data science, and technology, alongside her success in pageantry, she represents a new generation of multi-talented achievers.

"My journey reflects the belief that excellence isn't limited to a single field. By balancing academics, technology, and pageantry, I hope to inspire young people to pursue diverse passions with confidence and determination," she said.
Expressing her gratitude after winning the title, Hasitha thanked her family, friends, mentors, and everyone who supported her throughout the journey.
She said she is honoured to be crowned Miss Universe Telangana 2026 and is excited to represent the state at the national level. She also thanked the Miss Universe Telangana Organisation and extended special gratitude to Dr Sunitha for her guidance, encouragement, and unwavering belief in her.
