NEET re-test: Delhi, Bihar and other states to offer free travel, full list here
With the NEET UG 2026 re-examination just days away, several states have announced free or subsidised bus travel for NEET UG 2026 re-exam candidates. The move is aimed at reducing travel costs and helping students reach their examination centres on time.

As lakhs of students prepare for the NEET UG 2026 re-examination on June 21, several state governments have announced free or subsidised travel facilities to help candidates reach their examination centres. The measures come after the original May 3 examination was cancelled, forcing students to travel again for the nationwide re-test.
While most states are offering free travel on state-run buses, Uttar Pradesh has announced a 50 per cent concession instead.
WHICH STATES ARE OFFERING FREE BUS SERVICES ON JUNE 21?
| State | Benefit |
|---|---|
| Delhi | Free DTC bus travel on exam day with admit card |
| Punjab | Free travel on state buses (June 20–22), includes one guardian |
| Andhra Pradesh | Free APSRTC bus travel on June 21 with admit card |
| Odisha | Free OSRTC bus travel on exam day after verification |
| Uttarakhand | Free travel for residents (2 days before & after exam) |
| Bihar | Free BSRTC bus travel from June 20 to +1 day after exam |
| Uttar Pradesh | 50% bus fare concession for NEET candidates |
KNOW THE RULES BEFORE YOU TRAVEL
Although several states have announced travel support, the conditions vary. In Delhi, candidates can travel free on DTC buses on June 21 by showing their NEET UG admit card.
Punjab has extended the benefit from June 20 to June 22 on Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS and PRTC buses, and has also allowed one parent or guardian accompanying the candidate to travel free.
In Andhra Pradesh, candidates can avail free travel on APSRTC buses on the examination day by producing their admit card, while Odisha has announced free travel on OSRTC buses after admit card verification.
In Uttarakhand, the facility is available only for permanent residents, who can travel free on ordinary state transport buses from two days before the examination until two days after it.
Bihar has announced one of the most extensive schemes, allowing candidates to travel free on all BSRTC buses—including AC, non-AC, deluxe, luxury, electric and Pink buses—from June 20 until one day after the examination. Students must carry their admit card and provide basic details to receive a zero-fare ticket.
Uttar Pradesh, meanwhile, has opted for a different approach by offering a 50 per cent concession on UPSRTC bus fares instead of completely free travel.
A COMMON GOAL: HELP STUDENTS REACH ON TIME
Most state governments have said the decision is intended to reduce financial pressure on students and their families while ensuring that transportation does not become a hurdle on one of the most important examination days of the year.
Candidates should carry a printed NEET UG 2026 admit card, as it serves as the eligibility document for availing these travel benefits in every participating state.
