NEET UG results declared: 11.21 lakh qualify, toppers from Punjab and Haryana
Over 11 lakh aspirants secured eligibility for MBBS, BDS and AYUSH admissions. Punjab's Aryan Gupta and Haryana's Panshul Bansal topped the exam with identical scores of 715.
The National Testing Agency on Thursday declared the NEET UG 2026 results, with 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying for admission to undergraduate medical, dental, AYUSH and allied courses across the country. The results have been announced in time to ensure that the medical admission and counselling schedule remains on track.
Candidates who appeared for the examination can now download their scorecards from the official website, neet.nta.nic.in. The NTA has also published the lists of All India Rank holders, state toppers, category-wise toppers, qualifying cut-offs and language-wise participation.
TOP PERFORMERS
The highest score of 715 out of 720 was jointly secured by Aryan Gupta of Punjab and Panshul Bansal of Haryana.
According to the NTA:
19 candidates scored above 700 marks.
138 candidates secured more than 690 marks.
1,492 candidates scored 650 or above.
10,160 candidates scored 600 or above.
90,780 candidates obtained 500 or more marks.
The agency said over 93 per cent of the top 138 performers were first-time NEET candidates, while nearly all of them were between 17 and 19 years of age.
Qualified candidates emerged from all 36 States and Union Territories. Uttar Pradesh recorded the highest number of qualified candidates with over 1.7 lakh, while Lakshadweep had 43 qualified candidates.
The NTA said 17 state toppers scored 700 marks or above, while 26 state toppers secured more than 690 marks.
NEARLY 20 LAKH APPEARED
The NEET UG 2026 re-examination, conducted on June 21, saw the participation of nearly 20 lakh candidates at 5,440 examination centres across 551 cities in India and 14 cities abroad.
The examination was held in 13 languages, including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi and Urdu.
Among the qualified candidates, more than 58 per cent are women, with female candidates recording a higher qualification rate than male candidates.

The number of qualified candidates across major categories is as follows:
General: 2.91 lakh
OBC-NCL: 5.12 lakh
SC: 1.59 lakh
ST: 63,716
Gen-EWS: 95,026
PwBD: 3,666

The category-wise cut-off marks and qualifying percentiles have also been released along with the results.
The result was declared a day after the final answer key was released.
Earlier, the NTA had revised two Physics questions, dropping one question and accepting two correct answers for another, resulting in 8 bonus marks being awarded to all candidates as per the evaluation policy.
The examination process included the release of the provisional answer key on June 25, the OMR response sheets from July 13 to 15, the final answer key on July 16, followed by the declaration of results on the same day.

Following the declaration of results, qualified candidates will now participate in the counselling process for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH and other undergraduate medical programmes.
Counselling for the 15 per cent All India Quota will be conducted by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), while the remaining state quota seats will be filled through the respective state counselling authorities.
The NTA has advised candidates to rely only on the official websites for counselling-related updates and cautioned them against fraudulent admission offers or fake communications seeking money or personal credentials.
